The BLUETTI Charger 2 combines your vehicle’s alternator and solar panels to charge a portable power station at up to 1,200 W. It can use both sources at the same time, so you can collect solar power while driving without changing cables when you park. App monitoring, vehicle battery protection and optional DC Hub support make it a practical charging solution for road trips, camping and off-grid travel.

Description

Keep your power station charged on the road

A standard vehicle power outlet can limit how quickly you recharge a large portable power station. The BLUETTI Charger 2 connects to a suitable vehicle electrical system and uses available alternator power to charge while the engine is running. Add compatible solar panels, and the charger can draw from both sources without requiring you to swap the power station’s charging cable between driving and parking.

The charger accepts up to 800 W from the vehicle and 600 W from solar, delivering up to 1,200 W combined to a compatible power station. Actual charging power depends on the vehicle, solar conditions, connections and the receiving power station’s input limit.

Manage power while driving or parked

Charger 2 prioritizes available solar input and adjusts the contribution from the vehicle to stay within its total charging limit. It monitors vehicle battery voltage and stops drawing vehicle power when the engine is turned off, helping protect the starter battery.

With a supported BLUETTI setup, reverse charging can replenish a low vehicle battery using solar power or a connected BLUETTI product. The BLUETTI app lets you check energy flow, monitor charging and adjust available settings through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

Build a wider vehicle power setup

Charger 2 works with BLUETTI portable power stations and can charge many third-party power stations through a suitable MC4 solar-input connection. Third-party models may require manual voltage configuration, and charging performance can vary. Always check the receiving device’s DC input specifications before connecting it.

For a vehicle DC power setup, a compatible DC Hub is required to supply 12 V or 24 V devices. The DC Hub is an optional accessory for the charger configuration described here.

Frequently asked questions

Can Charger 2 use the alternator and solar panels together?
Yes. Both sources can remain connected. The charger manages their contribution automatically, with a maximum combined charging output of 1,200 W.

Will it work with a third-party power station?
It supports many third-party power stations that accept charging through MC4 solar connections. Check the station’s DC input voltage and power limits; some models may need a custom voltage setting in the BLUETTI app.

Can it power a 12 V car fridge?
Yes, when the Charger 2 is paired with a compatible DC Hub and the fridge is connected through a suitable DC setup. The DC Hub is required for 12 V/24 V device output.

Will it drain the vehicle battery when the engine is off?
The charger monitors the vehicle battery and stops drawing charging power after the engine turns off. BLUETTI recommends disconnecting it during long periods of inactivity because a small amount of idle power is still consumed.

Can I install it outside the vehicle?
Its IP20 rating calls for a dry, protected and ventilated installation location. Follow the BLUETTI installation instructions and check the vehicle’s electrical capacity before fitting it.
